Fashion Industry At London Fashion Week
Ask ten individuals what London Style Week has a lot more than any other, and they’ll answer, “Energy!”
It’s in no way lacked buzz, or excitement, or youth, but over the past two years it has finally attracted the attention it deserves. Fashionista attended its first London Fashion Week three many years ago, when American press took up a bench. Now they’ve a whole section.
I`ve been covering London, and championing its designers for many years: “I think originally it started with having spent so much time in Australia, and as soon as you start coming to the shows here– the thing about London for me, and why I’m so committed to it, is simply because while sometimes the kids who are designing right here may not have the money to execute points in a way that we see in other markets, the suggestions are right here. I see a lot more original refreshing ideas in London than I see in any other location. I mean things that truly make me believe about fashion, and I do not see that anywhere else–not using the same consistency and volume, these new ideas about clothes.”
Another editor remembered her very first London Fashion Week show, “I think I ended up within the basement kitchen of a hotel, and Hamish Bowles was there, and the designer sent out like orange duvets. And it absolutely was crazy, but it absolutely was cool, and London’s so totally unpredictable that you simply can’t assist but love it.”
Another great story, for this season, Bailey went for the army, marine Sergeant inspired selection. The tailoring on the woman’s coat was just superb, and exquisite. His use of sherling was just so various and articulate, it gave each piece and appear a small umff if you know what I mean. A very detailed selection, from the multi-zips, buckles, and pockets on coats, jacket, and trousers alike.
It was a very strong masculine, but also sexy and again retro glamour selection. Really English, Bailey knows the art of a Burberry trench. Re-vamping the classic trench, giving it a fresh new look each and every season. The selection was very strong and young. The color palette of navy, deep purple, white, army green, tan, and mustard yellow, was a bit odd, but workable. I enjoyed it all. Hands down, the best selection ever, topped all of London Fashion Week!
Meanwhile Olivia Palermo wore a dark 3/4 length sleeve version of this Burberry Prorsum zip-front sequined jacket towards the London Fashion Week presentation of Burberry Prorsum Autumn/Winter selection.
